Phew. Friday is finally here. I'm grateful to have a few days to recharge. I'm sure my family is hoping that the weekend seriously readjusts the crappy attitude I've had all week. Sometimes I just need to stop, take a moment to be grateful for everything I have, and realize that even when life throws a few speed bumps in my way it's still a freaking wonderful life. Happy Friday!

I've featured her home before, but I wanted to share additional pictures of her beautiful nursery and playroom.
This has been one of those craptastic weeks that makes me want to crawl back in bed and hide until Friday. I need a little pick-me-up, and it's coming in the form of this beautiful home from the founder/owner/creative director of one of my favorite stores: Schoolhouse Electric. Hope it gives you a little boost of beauty if you need it.
This nursery incorporates many different shades of blue, and it works really well. The crib is perfection.
I'm working again this weekend so my usual Sunday chores are getting neglected. Tomorrow will be catch-up day AKA laundry day. How cute is this room? I don't have a source (found on Pinterest), so I don't know if this is wallpaper or hand-painted. Whatever it is, I love it.
This room shows what a little paint can do for kid furniture with good lines.
It's fun to find new sources of art for little people. I recently saw these beautiful illustrations by Andrea Minini, and I fell head over heels. I'd love to do an entire wall of these framed prints.
The August/September issue of Adore Home is all about decor for family living. There's a ton of inspiration for nurseries, kid rooms, and family homes. Here are a few of my favorite pages:
Tomorrow we leave for a Telluride camping trip, so I'll be gone from the blog for a few days. I wanted to do an outdoors-related post, and this gorgeous birthday party came to mind. I love planning and throwing parties, but I have to admit that little man has had the lamest birthdays ever. If I were going to summon the energy to throw him a killer celebration, this would be my inspiration. Maybe when he turns 5. He would love something like this:
What a great weekend! We've had a full house for the last few days, and I'm sad our guests are leaving today. It's the best part of having a bigger house--more room for friends to come and visit. Some of my favorite moments from the weekend took place around our dining table. Good food, good wine, and good company. Here are some beautiful dining rooms that work for families and for entertaining:
