Her experience got me thinking about designing for multiples. I saw this nursery on belle maison, and it's bliss from every angle. Such a serene space.
My friend just flew back from Ethiopia with 3 gorgeous girls. She adopted a set of 4-month-old triplets, and I'm ecstatic for her. She's waited for so long to become a mother. What a crazy, incredible journey ahead. Congrats, Mary! Her experience got me thinking about designing for multiples. I saw this nursery on belle maison, and it's bliss from every angle. Such a serene space. Favorite elements: the powder blue paint color, the sparkle accent wall, those chandeliers, and (my absolute favorite) the Thomas Pedersen's Stingray rocking chair. It's a stylish modern rocker that looks comfy and inviting.

I have friends who are living proof that having a baby doesn't mean that your house has to be overrun with unsightly plastic toys. Baby paraphernalia can fit in with even the most modern decor. These wood grasping toys from Hapa via Oompa are on my wish list.
Reading has always been very important to me. I can't wait to start collecting the books that were once dear to me as a child, and I look forward to discovering new ones with my baby. Books need a beautiful home, and there are lots of whimsical bookshelves that would add something special to a nursery. 1. Adorable tree from Shawn Soh. 2. Fun and bright bookshelf from Jordi Mila. 3. Functional and beautiful Oeuf mini library. 4. A more affordable take on the Oeuf unit from West Elm. 5. A couple of these Bratt Decor cubbies would do the trick.
I'm enjoying gathering ideas for the nursery. My home and design aesthetic are decidedly modern, and I want a baby's room that flows with the rest of the living spaces. I love how this couple created a nursery (found here) that fits perfectly with the rest of their super stylish modern pad. My version might be a bit less stark, but I'm loving the neutral color palette that lets all the colorful baby items (toys, blankets, books) pop. It's a space that works for boy or girl and that will still be appropriate for a toddler or older child. Check out the rest of the home tour. I know I'm ready to move into that house right now!
Favorite elements: The incredible mobile, the textured rug, and, even though it's been done over and over, I'm still not tired of chalkboard paint. I'm starting my first post with some good news: I'm pregnant. It's early and it is a high risk pregnancy, but I've decided to approach whatever comes with cautious optimism. And lots of blogging. Instead of worrying about all the things that can go wrong during the next months, I've decided to focus on beautiful design for little ones.
