We've had a snowy April. Lots of snow. Inches and inches. Blizzard conditions at times. I'm longing for warmer weather, my spring wardrobe, and outdoor living. These pictures of this home make me want it even more...

Sorry for the long absence. I'm happy to report that we are all moved in and enjoying our new house. There are a lot of empty rooms in our new pad, and I'm looking for inspiration  for those blank spaces. I love this photograph by Jessica Antola. The home feels light and bright, warm and homey, modern and comfortable. These are all adjectives I hope will apply to our place. One day. 

I have a thing for brownstones. Beautifully designed by the Brooklyn Home Company, this 4-story home in Lincoln Place is extra special.

This Seattle home feels warm and inviting and happy. Rae, the brains behind Armommy, lives here with her husband and four kids. You can read more about her family here.

Responders seemed happy with the content and style of the blog, and the overwhelming favorite feature was Family Home. I'm happy to continue posting house porn. It distracts me from the dismal inventory in my own house hunt. This home to a six-month-old, 4-year-old, and teenager is what I want in my own future abode: a combination of traditional architectural elements and modern mid-century furnishings. And you already know how I feel about these floors.

I love this story that I spotted in a recent Vogue. Chic couple (Miranda Brooks and her architect husband Bastien Halard) move from Manhattan to Brooklyn in search of more space for their two girls. He renovates this nineteenth-century row house with a budget that most of his clients spend on a bathroom. I love it all, especially the gorgeous outdoor space. I dream of a garden like this one.
